Januvia 50mg Tablets contain sitagliptin, a selective DPP-4 (dipeptidyl peptidase-4) inhibitor used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Sitagliptin enhances the levels of incretin hormones, which help regulate blood sugar by promoting insulin secretion and decreasing glucose production by the liver, especially after meals. This dosage is commonly prescribed for patients with mild to moderate renal impairment or in combination with other antidiabetic medications.

Indications:

• Used to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet and exercise alone are not sufficient.
• Can be used as monotherapy or in combination with other medications such as metformin, sulfonylureas, or insulin.

Dosage and Administration:

• Adults with Mild to Moderate Renal Impairment: One 50mg tablet taken once daily, with or without food.
• The dosage should be individualized based on kidney function and treatment response.
• The tablet should be swallowed whole with water.

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to sitagliptin or any of the excipients in the tablet.
